Authentic Coaching Group Mentor Program Information
Congratulations on embarking on your journey toward an International Coaching Federation (ICF) credential! At Authentic Coaching Group, we understand that mentor coaching is a vital and transformative experience, not just a requirement. It is an essential component for coaches aspiring to achieve the Associate Certified Coach (ACC), Professional Certified Coach (PCC), or Master Certified Coach (MCC) credentials. Our Mentor Program is meticulously designed to elevate your coaching practice, provide direct feedback, and ensure you master the ICF Core Competencies. Mentoring is now seamlessly integrated into all our programs, providing a structured and supportive environment for your growth.
Why Mentor Coaching?
Mentor coaching is a collaborative process where you receive feedback based on observed sessions, allowing you to refine your skills and style in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies. It is a thought-provoking process that engages you in an in-depth review of your coaching practices, helping you gain a high level of reflection and receive direct feedback from experienced mentor coaches. This focused development aims to sharpen your abilities, deepen your understanding of coaching, and ultimately help you become a masterful coach. Beyond credentialing, mentor coaching fosters continuous growth, helping you adapt to new insights and enhance your effectiveness.
ICF Requirements Overview
To obtain your ICF credential (ACC, PCC, or MCC), you are required to complete 10 hours of mentor coaching. These 10 hours must be completed over a minimum period of three months. Out of these 10 hours, at least three hours must be one-on-one sessions, while the remaining seven hours can be in a group setting with no more than 10 individuals. Your mentor coach must hold a valid ICF credential at the same level or higher than the one you are pursuing (with specific renewal requirements for ACC mentors).
Group Mentor Coaching
Authentic Coaching Group’s Group Mentor Coaching is designed to provide a rich, collaborative learning experience. In these sessions, you are surrounded by peers, fostering a supportive community where you can learn from diverse perspectives and shared experiences. Our group sessions are structured to master the ICF Core Competencies in an engaging and cohesive environment, allowing you to explore topics and queries that might not arise in individual settings. Authentic Coaching Group includes 7 hours of group mentor coaching for each student, typically taking place over a 3-month period. These sessions offer invaluable opportunities for receiving feedback and enhancing your coaching mindset, skill set, and overall competence.
Individual Mentor Coaching
Individual mentor coaching sessions offer a completely personalized experience, targeted to your unique needs and development areas. You will experience the power of in-depth, one-on-one coaching, deepening your awareness of the client’s perspective while receiving tailored feedback on your recorded sessions. This format allows for a focused environment to address specific areas for improvement and to hone your unique coaching style. Authentic Coaching Group includes 3 hours of individual mentor coaching for each student. These sessions are instrumental in providing professional assistance and ensuring you are well-prepared for the rigor of ICF accreditation.
Logistics & Timeline
Mentor coaching at Authentic Coaching Group can commence during your program or after its completion, depending on your credentialing path. For Level 1 certification, mentor coaching typically starts at the end of the program, while for Level 2, it is often integrated during the program to support continuous development. All mentor coaching must take place over a minimum of three months, as per ICF requirements.
Once you have completed your mentor coaching and met all other requirements, you can apply for your ICF credential. The timeline for application depends on accumulating the necessary coaching experience hours: 100 client coaching hours for ACC and 500 client coaching hours for PCC. We provide guidance and advice on how to effectively gather these coaching hours to support you throughout this process.
Authentic Coaching Group’s Mentor Program typically takes 3-4 months to complete, ensuring you have ample time to absorb feedback, reflect, and implement improvements in your coaching practice.
